To use DBS applications, all you need is a computer with a modem, a web browser and XX? (SPEED) access to the Internet. That's it! There is no hardware or software to buy, install or maintain. DBS applications run with any operating system, meaning they work with Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Unix. Our solutions also run from both Microsoft Explorer (5.0+) and Netscape Navigator (6.2+).

How long does it take to set up DBS and get it running?

With DBS, you can be up and running in just a few minutes. Initial implementation usually depends on the size of your company, but it usually takes less than 24 hours to set up your DBS solution.

What is the job of the DBS Administrator?

Every company or organization that utilizes DBS has at least one administrator who is responsible for setting up your DBS solution. This includes adding users, establishing their roles and implementing their permission-based security. This job can usually be completed in just a few hours.

Afterwards, it is the DBS Administrator's responsibility to maintain the application by removing old users, adding new ones, managing passwords and more.

Is any special training required to use DBS?

DBS was built so that experienced film buyers and sales reps could begin using the system immediately. Similar to most websites, the application is intuitive, user friendly and easy to learn. If you are familiar with browsing the Internet, then using DBS should be a snap.

Is training available if I need it?

Training is not required though highly suggested, due to the specialized nature of DBS' solutions. We offer free training courses for users and administrators, with each training course running an hour and covering daily usage issues. Even better, classes are taught online and through conference calls, so you never have to leave your office.

What will be required of my company's IT department?

Initially, nothing. All DBS applications are accessed through the Internet via a web browser. No modifications or upgrades to your computer are required. You will need to have either Microsoft Explorer (5.0+) and Netscape Navigator (6.2+) as your web browser.

Remember, there is no hardware, software or network equipment to purchase and maintain. Your IT department will never have to maintain your DBS solution. Of course, if you wish to integrate your company's present proprietary data systems, your IT department will need to instruct us on how to deliver a live, real-time data feed. Such integration usually takes less than XXX.

Can my company configure DBS for our special needs?

Your company's DBS administrator is able to configure many aspects of the DBS application to fit your organizations specific requirements. Viewing and access permissions, group assignments, distribution lists, theater assignments are all examples of variables that can be customized.

DBS employs all of the leading hosting security technology and continues to adopt emerging security advancements. Our database is managed on a regular basis by trained engineers and is backed up daily.

Every subscriber must log into DBS with a username and password. Upon logging in, a small lock icon will appear at the bottom of your browser, acknowledging that a secure (SSL) connection has been established with our server. As well, the URL in your browser's address bar used to access your data will be begin with https rather than http, which also indicates a secure connection.

Is my data completely private with DBS?

Protecting the information you use to run your business is one of our top priorities. We are dedicated to making certain your data is both secure and private. This is why we have posted our privacy policy, which details exactly how we handle your private data.

Does DBS ever view or use my data?

Absolutely not. Never will we, or anyone else for that matter including our partners, ever access your data without your expressed permission. It should also be known, in no uncertain terms, that we will never share your data with anyone.

Of course, customers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of their user registration and password."

Can DBS integrate data with my company's proprietary data systems?

Absolutely! That is one of the benefits of DBS applications and is highly encouraged. Real-time data exchanges between our applications and any other industry-specific applications that you already use can be facilitated. Since we are an online conduit that utilizes technologically advanced databases, it is simple for us to transmit data directly into any third party or proprietary internal applications or systems your company already has established.

Sharing key data between DBS and existing enterprise systems in real-time can lead to increased efficiencies such as enhanced reporting and quoting capabilities. Such requests are the only instances when the resources of your company's IT department will be called upon.

Can I receive a backup copy of my company's data?

Yes. You can receive a complete download of all the data your users have entered into DBS by signing up for our Weekly Backup Service. Please speak with your DBS representative for further information.

How often does the DBS database go down?

DBS system outages are a rare occurrence. There are a number of redundancies built into DBS and its infrastructure in order to reduce any maintenance, down time or system failures. All equipment and applications that make up the DBS solutions and services are continuously monitored and administrated so that faults are monitored before system outages occur.

DBS understands that system outages will arise due to matters beyond our control. In an effort to resolve any system failures in a timely fashion, DBS has created escalation procedures to inform proper personnel in the event of any system outage. Since the DBS solutions were created and are maintained for the benefit of all our clients, the DBS engineers in charge of system architecture, data security, solution functionality and integration are continuously available to remedy any issues.

Since DBS is an online application, as we add new features and functionality, you will have instant access to them when you return to the site. You will never have to download any software or adjust your computer settings to receive upgrades to DBS solutions.

Are any special platforms needed to run DBS?

In short, the operating system and hardware you use do not matter when using DBS.
